EXCELLENT AT -40°C

The temperature constantly dropped below -40°C during my Arctic expedition (a solo climb of Mt. Gunnbjorn, Greenland’s highest mountain). The Taiga ‘Wildcat’ A50 down sleeping bag was excellent. It was rated to -35°C, but kept me warm at far more extreme temperatures. The DryShell material worked perfectly, the sleeping bag was dry all the time, despite the condensate and snow dust in the tent.

Winter Expedition Bag

Pro’s: Warm, dense down fill with high loft
Super comfortable draft collar, easy to use/adjust hood
Waterproof shell
Con’s: Not as compressible/packable as other bags (likely due to dense fill, which provides superior warmth/heat retention)
Has an outer storage pocket: could use an inner pocket to store objects you don’t want to freeze overnight
Impression: Incredibly warm bag with high loft and well thought out details (draft zipper garage, draft collar, hood adjustment). Slept comfortably to -25c. Ideal for temps -10c and lower. Possibly the best bag for extreme conditions.
